"Small, but beautifully formed". That's the description that most aptly describes our Village Hall. Built in 1871, up until 1945 it functioned as our village school, and then, when the school closed, it became the Church Hall, until the Parish Council adopted it as our Village Hall in 1986.

Main Hall View 2

The building was extended and refurbished in 2003, with the aid of a Lottery grant, and now boasts a main hall, a separate meeting room, tables and chairs, a fully-fitted kitchen, toilets, a fully enclosed rear garden with garden furniture, and a car park for 15 - 20 cars on the front court. A 6m x 4m marquee can be hired, for special occasions. Chairs, tables and a number of popular fete games are also available to hire, for use 'in-house' or at other outside venues (prices on application).

Garden

In May 2012 the main hall floor was cleaned, re-sanded and sealed, a disabled ramp access to the rear garden installed and modern fabric covered chairs purchased. Further purchases include a new Four Hod Commercial Electric Cooker with full oven cooking facility. A microwave oven and fridge are available. This is an ideal venue for children's parties,Wedding receptions, Quiz nights, dancing and small to medium-sized meetings. Over the years, it has played host to several clubs and societies, such as Bee-Keeping, Bowls, Bridge, Mother & Toddler Group, Keep Fit, T'ai Chi, Line Dancing, History talks,Womens Institute & Parish and Church Council meetings. The maximum number of persons permitted is 70, and both the Hall and the garden are fully accessible to wheelchairs. The hall is the local Polling Station for all Elections.
