" Small, but beautifully formed ". That's the description that most aptly describes our Village Hall.
A Grade II Listed Building, built in 1871 from Troston brick, the Village Hall was originally the School House. When the schoool closed in 1945, it became the Church Hall, taking the place of the reading room as the social centre of the village. It was in 1986 that the Parish Council decided that it would be adopted as the Village Hall.

The building was extended and refurbished in 2003, with the aid of a Lottery grant, and now boasts a main hall, a separate meeting room, tables and chairs, a fully-fitted kitchen, toilets, a fully enclosed rear garden with garden furniture, and a car park for 15 - 20 cars on the front court. A 6m x 4m marquee can be hired, for special occasions. Chairs, tables and a number of popular fete games are also available to hire, for use 'in-house' or at other outside venues (prices on application).

In May 2012 the main hall floor was stripped, re-sanded and sealed, a disabled ramp access to the rear garden installed and modern fabric covered chairs purchased. Further purchases include a new Four Hob Commercial Electric Cooker with full oven cooking facility. A microwave oven and fridge are available. Most recently, a special acoustics system was installed making it well suited for meetings. Overall, the Village Hall has become a multi-functoinal venue ideal for children's parties, Wedding Receptions, Quiz nights, dancing and small to medium-sized meetings.
For meetings, layout/set-up options include Theatre Style, U-shape, Open Square and Boardroom.
Over the years, it has played host to several clubs and societies, such as Bee-Keeping, Bowls, Bridge, Mother & Toddler Group, Keep Fit, T'ai Chi, Line Dancing, History talks, Womens Institute & Parish and Church Council meetings. The maximum number of persons permitted is 70, and both the Hall and the garden are fully accessible to wheelchairs. The hall is also the local Polling Station for all Elections.
